Some of you may remember this thread. http://www.cointalk.com/t204706/ Here are some pics Merc Crazy took BEFORE I sent it off to NCS/NGC. The coin now has the green spots removed and is a bit brighter. Well it came back from NCS/NGC after they removed the green spots and brightened the coin a bit. Drum roll . . . . . . . . . . MS66 FB! Thanks to all those who submitted their opinions and thank Merc Crazy for taking high quality pics before I sent it off to NGC. This is the coin I originally cracked out of an ICG Slab that was labeled MS65 FSB.
Holy cow! You definitely hit it big! Not only did NCS work out for you (always a risk), but it actually got UPGRADED from an ICG slab! Congrats...nice variety!
Thanks! I paid $480 for this coin at the coin show and spent about $100 in shipping, conservation, and grading. So yeah, I think I did all right!
Congratulations. The upgrade to MS66 is nice, but even nicer is the FB designation. FB is 20 times rarer than the typical MS66. Price guide (and that's all it is) has a 66 worth $144 and the FB worth $1220. Cha Ching!!
That is such a beautiful coin. I agree with the 66 FB Designation because it is very nice even through the photos. Well done.
