I would have to agree with that, maybe my problem is I just dont remember a time when ebay (the internet in general) didnt have a lot of scammers on it and this is just always how it is...I use several sellers there on a regular bases...they get lots of bids and sales and they arent selling there because they are losing money People take a chance on them, get good service and product and frequent them as favorites.

My problem with only buying from sellers I know or trust though is that then I limit my choices and I am always looking for new sellers with good coins and business practice.... Certainly I want a good deal on a coin but to be honest I almost never find great deals on ebay so I dont look for them, I get better deals buying from people on forums. I look for the best deal I can get like anyone. I am just looking for a good coin at a FAIR price, not looking to make or lose money, not look for a profit or to take someone for a valuable coin at a cheap price or be taken.

If we all just buy from people we know...we never would meet and develop relationships with new sellers or collector / sellers. I take chances with every new dealer I use but I have found all the good ones by taking a chance and buying from them. I have had a few rocky deals but in the end, I have had very few bad experiences on ebay.

I cant say enough how important a decent scan or picture is. I could care less what they grade it and if its slabbed thats fine as long as I am not paying for the slab If I had advice for any seller...photos...good ones...maybe a close up or 2. Less yakkity yak...more photos.

I DO think that fake sellers should be exposed at all turns. There are good sellers on ebay making money I assume, they arent selling there because they are losing money. I will also say that sometimes dealers are just charging too much for a coins and blaming it on something besides the high profit margin...honestly...there is NO shortage of good dealers selling on ebay. I see DO see flippers as a problem as well as they are trying to squeeze a few extra dollars off a coin they often didnt get a great deal on in the first place... If some can make more money selling elsewhere though, more power to them. I dont think scammers are hurting good honest sellers in any other way than making people scared of taking a chance on them.
