#1 Think of Nantucket rhymes. There once was a guy who was king. He threw wild parties, yeah, he liked to swing. He invited his knight. Who cried once with delight. Got sent him home with his thing in a sling.
#1 The King he liked to party, The way Kings often do, When it came to women, He always wanted two. And the Knight it seems, thought he would take a chance, by coming to the party, with his droopy lance, You see, the King was known for his parties, by the Falls of Niagra, and his golden candy dish, filled with blue Viagra!!!...........................John
This is for #2 Lady, For sixty-five years, your maternal countenance Encouraged the Infant of the World, The United States of America, And saw it grow to hold its own. Lady, What times you have helped us through, Sacrificing yourself for the poor and rich alike. What adventures your sealed lips hold! Your long, beauteous locks do not betray. Lady, They took you from us too soon. Like tapping a cask of red wine Hardly set to ferment, Your cessation was a sour event. My Lady, We drink to you now Wearing your Mona Lisa smile; For though this aged Merlot brings merriment, Grace is bestowed by your company. It's a beautiful coin and I enjoyed writing for it! Good luck to everyone!
Morgan was such a philanderer, With many a pocket he'd flirt. But times there were when he was 'dropped', And would spend his time in the dirt. Liberty was such a shiny soul, So many mens eyes she drew. And even when Morgan was present, She was no shrinking shrew. She loved him with a burning fire, Until that love was spent. He thought she wasn't worth a dime, She thought he was heaven 'cent' Is that romantic or not I ask myself.
Oh King 'tis not for you to run, Around with every dame you see. Your reputation now so bad, For one we know as royalty. You should be at home with the queen, Your place when all is said and done. Instead you put yourself about, Going wild and having fun. Sir Knight your King is a disgrace, For such lifestyle can you dissuade? He should not put himself about, And sleep with every servant maid. "Alas" replied the noble Knight, Tis good our King is cock-a hoop. For when I choose to use my lance, All it can do is droop!!!!
The contest will end on Nov. 20th. This will allow everyone to enter. I want your best poetry you can write. Cheryl

For many years I have collected, All manner of wonderful things. Buying Antiques and collectibles, Coins, pens, chains, watches and rings. I put them away in boxes, Hidden from public view. But now much older and wiser, I've decided what I must do. I found that I have an interest, In coins from all parts of this earth. So I want to accumulate knowledge, And find out what they are worth. I recently signed up to 'Coin Talk' And found certain expertise. I read up the threads now daily, Asking questions if I please. The people here all seem friendly, And ready to help me to learn. My grade is quite 'low' at the present, But I'll be 'very fine' in my turn.
