Gee Whizz my eyes are watery and sore from Gold glare....but absolutely fantastic collection hard to choose a favorite but your AV Quarter Stater ND Pella Mint Philip II grabbed my attention, well done great buying.
Thank you However, I ended up with more 1500-2000 coins in 2018. I will make a second thread woth the honorables mentions #11-20
Thank you Cucumbor Actually that is my fav. from list too. Its a Renaissance coin, but design looks Imperial Rome.
Thanks! My second fav. from list. That coin is amazing, that when it was struck, Bavaria and most of Central Europe was a grim battlefield. It was in the latter sphere of the Thirty Years War, when Catholic France (Cardinal Richelieu) betrayed the Holy Roman Emperor (Ferdinand III) and switched to the enemy (Protestant) side. Otherwise the bloody war would have ended in 1637. Back to this coin, the die engraver/ mintmaster were pretty darn good at their job, something that has been lost today.
Thanks I was torn in that Leu Auction, between the Hostillian Aureus and his mom. I ended up with her. I am hopeing to get her husband (Trajan Decius) in 2019.
Merci Its been a "labour of love" since I started collecting classic coins in 1989 with NFA auctions/ now with sixbid its a fantasy world.
