Hello Everyone! I've never seen a penny like this. Can anyone tell me if this is a
Multiple Strike or just needless damage. Thanks ! 1996 mult str#1.jpg 1996 multi strik#2.jpg

    Multiple strikes of what?

Correct! You will never see another coin like this, especially from the Mint.

So is it just garbage? I really don't know what happened, it looks as though some of the letters on the reverse have similarities to another coin or maybe somebody just based the hell out of it with something?

definitely NOT garbage. You can give it to me if you want ^^
all jokes aside, try to figure out what is struck on it. Could be another denomination or another penny strike. If it is that coin could be worth some money

HIPS: Human Impaired Post Striking. A bud and I coined (no groaning please) about fifteen years ago. Cute eh? It works quite nicely, feel free to use as needed.

With that much damage, we should be seeing a lot more zinc. It must have been treated/toned in some way to hide the work. Interesting coin but it didn't leave the mint looking that way.
