Does someone mind explaining to me why this 1951 S Washington Quarter has a MS67 grade? It sold on Ebay for $145. Thank You, Sley
Can we get a picture of the whole slab?it might be counterfeit thats why its not even MS the coin might not even be real as well
That looks like terminal toning. Maybe being the devils advocate we could assume it didnt look like that when it went into the slab assuming it is not fake or the slab is fake.
Looked it up the certified coin is legit but I definitely doesn't look like a 67 and it doesn't say its been cac which makes me suspicious about it
Razz, I'm sorry, but your quarter does not look lie a 65 to me. Again, I'm very new to this, and just trying to understand this grading concept.
No, @Sley, that's not what I mean. What they bought were the endorsements. Take those endorsements off, put it in a 2X2, now how much are they paying? That's one way I analyze these crazy things that don't make no sense nohow when you look at the coin.
Toning does not affect the grade. Merely looking at a photo will not help much in determining the condition of the coin. The graders at PCGS had the opportunity to examine the coin, in hand.
I took very quick pictures and it is hard to see through the plastic. I paid a whopping $6 for mine, which is $1.05 over melt value of the silver as I write this. Not very attractive toning for sure.
