I have no idea why you keep saying something is extending outside of the perimeter , I have told you and everyone else numerous times that there is nothing whatsoever extending outside of where the collar was. my photos is playing tricks on your eyes plus there is evidence that the planchet had a slanted looking clip missing from it before the strike. non of the metal in this area was squeezed out enough to reach the collar, and the coin is a tiny bit smaller in diameter when measured across where this clip looking area is. Does this clear this up for you or is there a way I can explain it more plainer.

the Ripleys believe it or not was intended as a joke.

No tricks, but I have been involved with drafting, mechanical drawing and AutoCAD for a combined 50+ years, so it sure looks out of round to me. Have you measured it with calipers in several different directions across the diameter? Show us photos of the coin in the calipers with the digital readouts. Then, I might consider believing you.

Struck through bologna? Nah! They're worth more than that, and if you can find the mint employee who dropped his Oscar Mayer into the coining chamber...........

Chris there is one thing I would never do and this is to lie to anyone. I don't have a caliper right now so what I did was to put this unusal coin in between two more coins and it was identical to the other two except in this area at 10 o'clock and it is smaller there. I just thought of something else that may possibly have happened but I'm about to rule this out because I can see where this coin was clipped before or during the strike.

It kinda looks like something entered the coining chamber at the exact time as the planchet did and the edge of whatever it was got caught between the collar and the planchet then after struck by the die and removed the foreign object then probably fell off the coin. this could account for this coin being smaller in diameter in this area.I know that when a foreign object is struck into a plancher about 99.99 % of the time it will fall out of the coin when removed from the die.

All of you folks that thinks it is making you look good are welcome to keep making fun of me all you want to , no harm done here and at least it gives you poor souls some amusement.so this is not all in vain and I enjoy helping people.

I was collecting and studying error and variety coins before the most of you were even born . Just ask my long time friend Mr. Wexler about that and he will tell you I have been at it since back in the 1960s.

You still haven't produced any physical evidence to prove your contention, so I can't accept it.

By the way, I was buying Morgan dollars at my bank as far back as 1957 with gambling winnings from pool.
