What do you guys / gals think would be the top 10 most collected/popular series of the past few years. In terms of volume of coins sold/traded? As I travel, I try to visit every B&M shop I come across and these seem to most prevalent in the Mid-west. 1. Lincoln cents 2. Morgan dollars 3. ASE’s (if you consider it a coin) 4. Walking Liberty half dollars 5. Roosevelt dimes 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. How would you finish the list?
6. Buffalo Nickels 7. Mercury Dimes 8. State/Park Quarters 9. Presidential Dollars 10. Jefferson Nickels
Answer to the question depends on what parameters you use to decide it. Tradition, and arguably common sense, says Lincoln cents are the single most commonly collected coin. Assuming you define "collected" as some sort of organized collection. However, if you were to use population numbers of slabbed coins, Morgan dollars are far and away the most commonly collected coins.
Trade dollars. Lol. Not hardly. I’d say Lincoln cents where I started then Morgan dollars next. I’d follow with Indian head cents walking half dollars peace dollars. . Washington quarters (pre 64) buffalo nickels mercury dimes franklin and Kennedy halves and st Gaudens $20s
