cindy: you have to send me a copy or tell me where to find one. I am unfamiliar with the umbrella song. Perhaps my teen daughters would know it?
I voted for Achey Breakey. But for me, the most annoying song ever is "The Twelve Days of Christmas." You can't write a more tuneless, monotonous, meaningless song without drinking spiked eggnog and then lobotomizing yourself first.
After going on the ride at Disney and Hearing "It's a small world afterall" 6400 times, it is tops on my list
Song that gets under my skin~~ showing my Age, but I have to go with "Tiptoes through the tulips" by tiny tim. I cannot stand that song
Well, I have to differ on "It's A Small World" since it was part of one of my earliest memories of being taken to the 1964-65 World's Fair. I am pretty sure I didn't hear it 6400 times, though. I voted for Barney out of the available choices. There are numerous parodies of the lyrics which I'll choose to not post here. Many years ago there was a regular "feature" on the radio station Z-100 in New York called the "Jukebox from H***". Listeners could call in and nominate nails-on-blackboard reaction inducers to add to the "playlist." There were some absolute screamers named during that time period. I will also (mercifully) not call out any by name so as to not inadvertently cause violent reactions!
Well, I just couldn't vote for anything that recalls very, very fond memories of when my kiddos were young, so that left out Barney, and especially "Song that never ends" and "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt". So... Funkytown. :headbang: It's Funkytown. :headbang: That's my story, and I'm stickin' with it.
Only a few more hours to vote guys! And just for y'all too know, I didn't vote in the poll to be fair. Just me. So far looks like greg is winning, but we'll see, something could change. Thanks all for playing, and hope y'all had a good time! Phoenix
This is intense! Great Poll. I didnt even know half of these songs! They are probably too old for me:goofer:
Lol, I think you typed that wrong Bruce. I think you meant any song written or recorded before 1950. Phoenix
Before 1950, after 1950 AND 1950 there were many horrible songs but also many good songs. If it weren't for old songs there would be a lot less new songs. Don't believe me? Dig back into the blues and jazz. Muddy Waters sang it best. "The blues had a baby and they named that baby rock n roll".
THE WINNER IS: GREGLAX45! Congrats Greg! PM me your address, and I'll send you your prize! Thanks all for playing, and hope everyone had fun! Phoenix
