Sarawakian, At no time did I mention the word RARE in my post as the term is used way to loosely in numismatics these days. Pull up any item on Ebay and you can probably see "RARE" or "SCARCE" in the ad! Great attention getter but far from the truth! And, for what it is worth, most collectors CAN NOT afford to purchase a truely RARE coin! I prefer to buy my Morgans "in person" when ever possible but have purchased a few from an Ebay source that I can trust. I can not argue the fact there are lots of Morgans out there, but they are just not here, which makes demand very great in this area.
WOW, I knew that I would have a problem asking yawl this question I guess I was looking for punishment, I trully do appreciate ALL your answers, I know now it will be a difficult decision. I do love the buffalo nickel, that coin more than any coin is uniquely American, don't you think? I don't think there was buffalo anywhere else in the world, unless they imported them from here--I think it was named inappropriately unfortunately, it should have been called the Indian/buffalo nickel>>But thats my opinion I have decided to keep a set of the ASE, and sell off all others, all my raws, slabbed that have nothing to do with a complete set I'll probably sell off on ebay--soon-- What am I buying now?? Well I took the majority of the advise from yawl--I have already started buying Morgans--in MS64 grade minimum, so far--Also, I am facinated with the $2.50 Gold Indian (my wife, buy gold comment), not many years of them exist, mintages are low, and they are currently relatively affordable. But I think I can put an extremely nice high grade set together alot quicker and cheaper than I can a $20 St Gaudens set which is my favorite coin-- Also I do plan on trying to acquire 1 each high end speciments of the 1921 & 1928 Peace Dollars. And finally, GD, I am looking at foreign coins now also--Only gold speciments mind ya, so do not fret, there plenty thar for both of us-- As I start receiving some of these puppies I'll post some pics--As I sell off my SAE & other stuff, those of you who are looking or interested, Ill let you know on our auction thread, and we can talk--I am still creating the pages, unfortunately, rebuilding ebay pages from scratch takes a little time if you haven't done it in a year or so-- Any ways, I again thank yawl, you have been very generous with your thoughts and I do appreciate it--My situation is fluid still, so it can change still but for now thats my direction--
Dad burn it !! Looks like I went and did it again. Soon another collector will be joining the ranks of the darkside - more competition Why if this keeps up - world coinage may even become popular You just wait Cisco, you've been bitten It'a all over except for posting the pics now pal
Well GD...I tryed to talk him into US but I don't think it worked...I guess I don't get paid since it fell through I guess it's better this way...I get the US coins now Speedy
