If you're not careful, the UNC rolls you buy might actually be labeled junk silver when you go to sell them (if they were harshly cleaned) If you are looking for a cheap way to buy silver in a coin that is no longer made ...  one interesting play is circulated Walking Liberty Halfs ... i bought some today at only about 3.6% over melt ... circulated Franklin Halfs are even cheaper. You can also take a look at circulated Peace Dollars, Morgan Dollars, Merc Dimes,even Barber Halfs are available in bulk quanties.  With these you dont have to worry about grading issues, while still getting your "coin fancy" tickled.  Just for comparitive purposes, ASE's are typically sold for around 14% over meltbut you get a bit more for them when you sell (i think generally $1 to $1.50 over spot)  Here are two sample coins from the Silver Dollar rolls i bought ...sorry about the poor quality of the photosi shot them in kitchen light using my iphone ...
