Morgan grading opinion?

    They look legit to me. Nice pickups. Hard to tell from the pics but I would say high AU for the '87 and low MS on the '21(if those aren't hairlines from a cleaning on the obverse).

    They're both real. The 1887 is probably AU58 and the 1921 is probably MS61.

    I agree , AU-58 , MS-61 if the '21 wasn't harshly cleaned .

    IMO, neither are worth sending in to get graded. Both are common dates and they won't grade high enough to justify the cost. Also, both looked overly dipped. No luster left in the coins.

    Not fakes. The 1887 is AU, as there are faint circulation wear marks on the high spots, such as the cap, and eagle feathers--a slight rub. I can agree to AU 55-58.

    The 1921 is harshly cleaned--the poor coin looks as if it were massacred by a buffer. No luster, and that dead look of cleaning. MS details on that one.

    Don't waste time slabbing either one--this is an example of raw Morgans that are common date, and one of which has been cleaned.
