[QUOTE="Collecting Nut, post: 4820709, member: 74863"]Sure, it's graded MS-66 by IGC but it's more like a MS-64. I think it's over graded and overpriced. It has a gold toning to it and for a silver dollar that looks odd, especially if I put it in my type set, itcwoukd look out of place. There are those small cuts on the Eagles wings. To me that looks like Damage. There are a few black spots on the reverse that I find slightly distracting. Lastly, just above the last S in STATES on the denticles, is a white spot. That is very annoying to me. It really stands out. As soon as I see the reverse my eyes go straight to that white spot. It really stands out.

Then I look at the mintage, almost 13,000,000 were minted. It's a common date and for the price they are asking, it's at or slightly above my Red Book. For me, it all boils down to the coin is not up to the grade it was given and if submitted to PCGS, NGC or ANACS, I doubt it would be given the MS-66 grade. That and all those little things add up to just not worth the price.

Well that's my opinion and my reasoning behind that opinion. I feel I could do much better. For less money I could get a much better looking common date Morgan Silver Dollar for my type set.

Hope this helps you make the decision that's right for you and for your collection.
