LOL ! I've accurately been calling the grades on coins based on pictures on this site for 8 years now. You show up for a month and suddenly I'm the one who doesn't know what I'm doing ?

    Mad
Let me see. We all can't agree on a grade on one coin from a single set of images. And that means some of us can't grade because we differ in opinion?
    That's a bit tough.

    either put up,or.......well.....

I only speak to educate.either educate correctly or stop typing.

I understand the the grades between AU58 and MS63 are in the top area for being the hardest grades to understand on Morgan dollars. There are some fine lines between those grades.and if you cannot determine it,you shouldnt give advice.

I dont want to win a competition.I want to show how mis-guided "reputations" can be.just because someone posts 25k times,it does not mean they know what they are talking about.

And I want your "reputation" to cease to exist on morgan dollars, until you can get up to speed.

helping people is great.but if you continue to feed them the wrong information, you are in a sense "brainwashing" members.

So since you stepped up to the plate.are you going to swing?
I would prefer to see you sit on the bench and learn a little more.

To date,"RAIDER" is the top leader on the "photo grading" scale of the forum.maybe someone should ask his opinion?

Im not trying to be "harsh".I want to make a point. When you give advice on a forum, about someones "money",it is a pretty big deal.

thats why people get paid to give advice, but they are also liable for bad info.

When am I gonna swing ? You're the one who volunteered to put his money where his mouth is. So go ahead and do it.

Now you got me laughin again :D

I wouldn't consider myself the top leader on the forum for photo grading. There are many people on this forum who have much, much more experience grading then me, and Doug is definitely one of those people.

I have already posted my opinion in this thread though (see post 28). I believe the coin has MS details, but imo the hit on the cheek is the big problem. If this coin was to go to PCGS I would expect a genuine holder, and if it went to NGC I would expect a UNC details holder.

Im not laughing, nor are the people you are giving advice to.

Are you willing to agree to the terms.you have avoided that area of this discussion.

Uhhhhh - you apparently don't pay much attention. Raider already gave his opinion -

"I would say the mark on the cheek plus the rim ding on the reverse would mean a genuine holder for this coin."

Sounds amazingly like what I said that you so strongly refuted.

Also I would be very interested to see how this coin would grade (mainly at NGC, because in the case of a BB, NGC will give a details grade). So if a deal can not be decided between Doug and Mad, I'd be willing to pay the grading fees for the coin to be graded at NGC.

    I have an idea:

Why not between both of you, split the cost to have DO's Morgan graded by one of the TPG's and we let the experts determine the grade, post the results here, and we'll see who's right or wrong?

This might be a lot to ask of the new member. If I understand, he is in Italy.

That's correct, I live in Italy. It'd be fine with me though but I know nothing about the whole matter (submitting procedures, etc.). Besides, it might be very expensive from abroad, ain't it?

That's why I suggested that Doug and Mad split the cost.

I would never agree to something so rediculous. My reputation speaks for itself. Does yours ?

When I make a mistake, I step up and admit it. Do you ?

you have no Faith in your own abilities.

Sure I do. That's why I offered to pay the grading/shipping fees if I am proven wrong.

You said you'd put your money where your mouth is - so put up, or shut up.

I said I would pay it,if you agree to the terms.you denied those terms,in Fear you are wrong.apparently your not sure if your right.your second guessing your ability's....

We all have been in that situation.and its alot better to just admit when were wrong.your Pride is so large you wouldnt do that either, but

"If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice"......

and it is very clear to many members now, that you made your choice.

at least those members, will be able to make a better determination when you type in threads.Deal with it now,or later.your indecision has left you with dealing with it now.Done....
