Maybe they have a distribution ctr. or hold a business license there. You could also start your own business for like $50. Get the coins and list on CL for way too much. If you sell, you made a good profit, if not enjoy and call it inventory. There are other advantages to home based business as well. I am not a tax atty. and take no responsibility for the actions made based on any of my posts.

Jumping on this late, but I think we will see higher taxes throughout the country both federal and state. You can't spend trillions you don't have (44% of our budget outlay will come from borrowing), in a bad economy, unless you notedly increase your revenue to service the debt. Our shrinking paychecks is that revenue. I personally stopped contributing to my 401 K (at least for now) in anticipation of higher taxes- can't afford to owe money my good friend, Big Government right now.

Ruben, i don't know if this will make you feel any better, but try this for Taxes:

    "Wonderful" Germany:

    - My net pay is 54% of my gross
    - My wife's net pay is 48 % of her gross
    - Out of what is left, we still need to pay 19 % V.A.T (value added tax) on most anything we buy except food which is a 'low' 7% (but not on alcoholic beverages - there its the regular 19%).
    - 20 years after german reunification we are still paying a "solidarity contribution" of an additional 5.5 % tax to help pay for east germany. This was supposed to be temporary.....
    - The "right" to watch the very entertaining state TV channels cost us $ 27 a month... (this is obligatory, no escape)
    - add a few other local tax charges, too many to mention.
    - When i buy a coin in the U.S, i need to pay a import duty tax of...8-21 %
    - add the cost of gasoline over here (3-4 x more than in the US)

All in all out of every Euro I earn gross, only about 38% is actual disposable income.

I remember years ago I had a salary increase which actually left less money in my pocket than before the increase! Why? this put me in a higher tax bracket.

I should have migrated to the U.S long ago....even New York sounds better than this.

I hope this makes you feel better now,

    Eduard

LOL!!!!! New Jersey is just as bad! The exodus has been going on for a couple of years here already. Everyone is going to either Delaware or the Carolinas.

Well I hear you. The problem here in the States, there aren't enough jobs that offer a chance to get ahead of the over taxed basic needs for middle income people. New York State is literally keeping people at or below a poverty level in correlation to the amount of taxes they are required to pay by comparison to other states, We are the highest tax burdened State in the nation.

Heritage holds an annual auction in New York (in January at the NYINC) and as such is a licensed auctioneer in the state. One of the requirements of being an auctioneer in New york is a NY sales tax permit. The state of NY is very aggressive in their pursuit of taxes and they do audit businesses who hold NY sales tax permits to ensure full compliance. I am not at all surprised that Heritage complies with the laws in the jurisdictions where it operates, they are simply too big to expect to be able to skirt the rules and get away with it.

Wow Eduard, taxed at 62% rate (essentially)! That must be motivating to try and climb the ladder and make more money or say start a business? We are not "letting a good crisis go to waste" over here in the states, so give us some time and we will be in a socialized uptopia=equality for all= we are all equally poor and helpless.

ah ok, when all is said and done though, the NYS Customers are the ones who pay, an pay, and pay. In the long run, all collectors will feel the effect of this. It's becoming unaffordable for me.

Good, Jim. I remember seeing one like that:

    Simplified 1040 for 2009

    1. How much money did you make last year?
    2. How much do you have left?
    3. Send it in.

    I have more information now.

Heritage has recently signed a temporary lease on a place in NYC in preparation for a large mid-town office set to open in the fairly near future. This is what predicated their email that started this thread.
