British series Bonekickers, I kind of liked it although not too many did, it only ran 6 episodes... But it had coins as archaeological evidence (sometimes rather badly) This one was at a 13th or 14th century site But, then again, so were these: Also this from an English site:
Yes, but my all-time favorite British TV show is The Detectorists (of which we have several notable ones on this site).
Plano, One of my favorite British TV series, with Diana Rigg, Rated highly amongst critics & the originator Mackenzie Crook (Andy) is a detectorist. J.T.
Thanks Plano! (She definitely was HOT in the avengers) I believe one of her last appearances was in the excellent re-boot of "All Things Great and Small" J.T.
I was in graduate school at U of GA and living in a private dorm. They had TVs in the basement for students (c'mon this was 1967!) and The Avengers was VERY popular (carried by an Atlanta station owned by some guy named Ted Turner). We were watching one episode where Ms. Peel and a vilainess were battling it out with whips, each dressed in skin-tight leather (white for Diana and black for the bad girl) when suddenly the picture died because apparently the station considered it too risque to continue!!!
I was at UT Austin 1964 living in the 'Athletic Dorm' along with the National football champs. ( no TV's) But had a friend working on his Masters in Art History living off campus who did have one. I was living off $20/week so I'd save up and splurge for a large bottle of Gallo plonk to take over to his 'pad' & watch Ms. Peel do her stuff. Guess Austin was as liberal then as now because the censors were a no-show...Ha! J.T.
