Many of you stated better reasons than I initially had for not naming names. It's all second hand info and we know how rumors are started. I have no reason to doubt the teller, but I thought of another possibility. The teller that bought the coins out of the drawer may have actually been lying about what they got for the coins. When I told the teller that the silver in Franklins was worth 13 times face alone, the look on her face was pure disappointment. Maybe the other teller agreed to split the proceeds, or even convinced her that they weren't worth much and she let the other teller buy them out of her drawer. Maybe she was "the other teller". As all have mentioned, I will never know the complete story, but based on the look on her face, somebody got burned big time. When I was younger, I used to play such shenanigans. As I grew older, I learned how easy it is to burn so many bridges over just a couple bucks. People who constantly burn bridges over a few bucks, need to constantly move on to find new territory, new friends, etc.... Personally, I'm happier to just spend that time growing closer with my family.
Ah, wisdom that comes with age. A word for all of the youngin' out there... "Karma". It'll get you everytime at the worst possible moment. As Gatzdon says, it's not worth "a couple of bucks". Because at the end of the day... that's all it is... a couple of bucks. Amen.
