Check out this beauty... 1868-A Prussia I'm not going to be in the running at the end (too pricey for me), but just had to share this.
That's a nice Prussian Coin.. When I read your thread title the first thing that came to my mind was something like this.. Japanese
Interesting selection.. The seller has mostly German coins with many bids on most of them. About 6 China coins at the end. Cool stuff!
He's got some nice German pieces from around the same time period. I like that Bremen war commemorative from 1871.
Pretty typical for German proofs from the second half of the 19th century. If you want to see some real beauties check out the proof thalers, guldens and marks
Coincidentally, there's a "real monster" I don't really have the budget to bid on right now in the latest Heritage world coin auction. https://coins.ha.com/itm/mexico/wor...-39116.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515 It's already over estimate and doesn't close for another 17 days.
I feel like their estimates are pathetic and purposely low. I've submitted coins for estimate and the numbers I got back were a joke. I guess it's a smart business model - have consignors pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed.
