The only thing that keeps me from wanting to do that is what happens if I happen to get 3 orders through? I dont have the money for THREE lol
I just checked my orders. It appears that I’m the proud owner of TWO rather than one with the O privy mark as I intended. Oh, well. I’ll figure out something to do with the extra one.
I was fortunate to get 10 CC's and i would like to get some Peace dollars. Like i said i want to see full strikes and no bag marks. Lot of hate for these coin's? I enjoy the originals as well but still 100th Anniversary is interesting to me The US Mint's web site sucks and all the tv coin show's that seem to always end up with everything at over inflated prices are annoying
I probably could have gotten through, I've gotten much harder ones, I didn't even try for these this time. SO maybe someone that really wanted this release got it. I wonder though just how many orders were placed in error, and how many people will cancel the extras or take them? I have to think double and triple orders happened quite a bit it's all most folks are talking about on this one,,,, all the order confirmations they got.
What I don't fully understand is why these went on-sale 5 months before they will be shipped. I wonder how many will end-up in probate before the person who ordered them ever sees them. In addition, that's too long a window for the mint to change their mind and to increase the mintage.
I've got an order number in my order history now but didn't get a confirmation on the site or by e-mail. So now I'm patiently waiting to see if it processes. Maybe like John says they're figuring out accidental orders and filling some? It's an amazing process.
If you don't get charged until they ship does it matter? They probably were getting slammed with people wanting to buy them so bad that they decided this was the easiest way to get past it for this year. Agree though, think they should have just released them in September. If they increase the mintage I still want mine. Every mint sale shouldn't have to revolve around flippers opportunities. You either want them or you don't. If somebody personally doesn't want any, you shouldn't be on the site clogging it up for everybody who does. A 20 minute sell out on a Monday for two 175k mintages is ridiculous.
Yeah but they could have staggered these with the CC's on one day and the O's on the next. Kind of like they could have with the AGE and ASE v75 privy.
It's obvious now that the household order limit should have been one but the mint wants the shipping to be as easy as possible so it was ten.
Using the multi-page approach and lots of clicking and refreshing to order it I actually wound up with two of each. I figured I'd miss my chance if I tried to update my order to one each, so I ordered all four. It went through so I apparently now have two of each coming... edit: It makes me wonder how many people did similar (eating up coins that others would have bought) and wound up with more in their cart than they intended but decided to buy in order to get anything.
Happened to me. I never reached the "order confirmation" page on an order for 2 CC's and 2 O's. I kept trying to get the same order processed until it said the CC's were sold out to I went on to just trying to get two of the O's. Made it to the confirmation sheet and received and email that the order had been processed. Fast forward over an hour and a half and the order history page at the mint came back up. Apparently one of my earlier orders for two of each (I tried processing many times) went through so now I have two extra O's above want I wanted. My email confirmation for the original 2 CC's and O's came over about 10 minutes after the order history site on the mint was operational again. I would guess that the only people who will be canceling are people who either do not have the $ to pay for them or people who don't want to go through the trouble listing/reselling them.
I agree with you and would be fine with one per household. As far as the shipping goes all they need to do is charge a bit more to cover the associated expenses. I think most people would rather have their order processed for an extra five bucks than have to go out and buy on the secondary market which absurdly expensive.
what "increase the mintage"? there is no mintage limit. Item Number: 21XC Mintage Limit: - Product Limit: 175,000 Household Order Limit: 10 Item Number: 21XD Mintage Limit: - Product Limit: 175,000 Household Order Limit: 10 what's to stop them from coming up with a new product like a set of all 6 in October? who knows how many they held aside of the product limit also? I don't. What I do know is according to the mint reps, they secured 1,075,000 total planchets so the product limits are all of that being spoken for, but if it all sells out so quickly, what's to stop them from going out and making another 1,075,000 of them and selling again after fulfillment in october? Nothing except securing more planchets to make more. Also there's a concern here that by october, people payment methods are going to foul, credit cards are not charged until an order is officially shipped. People needed to make sure the credit card being used for payment is active and not expired or due to expire before coins are to be shipped. also the Approved Bulk Purchasers, they pay a markup of 5% on top of the issue price but they get the option of collecting their order from the distribution center, It's very likely they get theirs well before the October ship date to "customers" that is planned. I have no idea how this is going to work, but I don't see how these things flip for most people, I mean ebay pre-sales aside that will have a 5 month wait time, if the ABP guys get theirs way early there's gonna be no action by October for anyone else that's left, maybe not for the guys offering to buy them right away... Who knows how it goes by October. A lot can happen, the mint could make a 6 coin set after october if they get more planchets, the mint could make proofs in 2022, 2023,2024, and onward or any other type, since the legislation doesn't have a sunset clause for it to end.
Well, it's delivery in october, the mint isn't going to charge anyone until they ship as per the normal way they do things, and that's 5 months from now, a lot can happen to a lot of these orders. Hahaha
For the first time in years I was actually able to complete my order. I snagged a CC. I got in about 12:01 and got bounced out a number of times. I even got my credit card number in three times before I finally completed my order. The process took place over about 14 minutes but, I had to move as fast as possible getting my information in to place the order. One thing I did notice this time was that even if I got bounced out when I got back in my information was still there. The only problem was that if I entered my credit card number and then got bounce out when I got back in I had to reenter my card numbers. I think I was tossed out around 6 times before I was able to lock in my order. I was only interested in one of the CC Morgan's I didn't want to be a hog because I knew a number of other people would like to get one. Besides I have a few of the original CC dollars in my collection and just added a 1878 CC over the weekend.
Will these be shipped earlier in June? I’m pretty sure it said will be in stock in June before they sold out.
the mint says they will start shipping in early october on the item listings. The Approved Bulk Purchasers may or may not get them early if they collect their orders, I'm not clear on what they are entitled to exactly for their 5% markup they are paying over the list price, but they are entitled to collect their orders from Tennessee Distribution rather than wait on mint shipping. Matt Holben, the Mint’s director of sales and marketing, says that dealers under ABPP will not receive early delivery of the dollars, They will also have to pay a 5% premium above each coin’s retail price and freight/shipping costs. so they pay 5% to get easier access to 17,500 pieces (10% of the product) instead of buying them in 10s like everyone else? I'm not certain that's ALL of the benefit of the deal here. the mint doesn't share the info how many dealers are on this list, but safe to assume, it's less than 1750, and more than 17 taking up 1030 pieces each dealer. I'm not into conspiracies really, I'm not, but there's some secrecy here and they ain't talking, even to give a number of how many there are and not naming names. the description of the ABPP is "This new program is structured to better meet marketplace product availability on the initial on sale date by expanding the distribution of Mint products. No more than 10% of products with limited quantities will be distributed under this program." sure seems like they want to make the items available for collection asap after the release date to the dealers that will pick them up from the distribution hub to me....
