I have to admit that while I have no real interest in modern coins, I have been working lately on putting together a set of the modern commemorative dollars. But just the business strike pieces. The mintages on the proofs tend to be way too high, but when I can buy silver dollars in mint state with mintages of less than 30,000 pieces for $30 or less, I can't see how I can go wrong. Picked up one in Chicago last weekend with a mintage of 53,000 for $17. Last year's boys town cost me $52 it has a mintage of 12,000. This year's breast cancer dollar has been on sale for close to a month now and has broken 10,000 yet.

The SOL,and Constitution are no great deals because of their high mintages so $20 apiece is reasonable, The James Madison is a little better because the mintage is considerably lower, just 98,000. Keep looking even better deals can be had, even lower mintage coins at about the same price.

22.95 I couldn't pass them up. I figured if I am going to collect silver dollars, might as well make it interesting. And the prices on these have come down a lot.

There's the 1997 Law Enforcement Silver dollar BU right now on ebay. I put in a max bid, but I have a feeling it is going to skyrocket at the end.

At the time I bought them they were the cheapest 90% silver-dollar-sized coin on the market. I also had a 10% eBay Bucks active so I got them for even cheaper than the listed price. I guess we were both on the same page haha. Good job.

You never know, but yea a lot bidders snipe nowadays and so the price jumps in the closing seconds of an auction.
