In 1984 Panama struck a 9 coin proof set that is relatively scarce and recent eBay sales in the last week or two have been in the upper $800 range. BUT the late departed Krause have shown an 8 coin set as well. In 40 years I have never seen evidence of this set when last week a legitimate set showed up on the bay! I had written it off as “reported, not confirmed” and probably did not exist. Well, here it is: Will show it in next post.

Indeed! I do recall a 1984 Barbados Proof Set going for 1600+ USD....Who knows, but it seems that the FM issues have a "bifurcated" market with the common/near bullion elements at the lower end and then the more exotic & rare pieces generally seeming to be taking off.
