Modern Coin Poor Strike Quality.

    No, because othe than the cent the clad coins composition and weight hasn't changed since they were introduced in 1965, the nickels since 1866, and the cent since 1982. So the amount of material has not been reduced at all, but the relief on all of them has been significantly reduced during those periods. The only reasons for the reduced relief have been to increase die life (lower relief means less pressure needed so the die holds up longer) and to account for speed of production.
