Modern clad toning show and tell - under appreciated and under valued?

    Just got a nice mint set with some odd brown toning. It does t look bad Olin the proof in my opinion but the saca dollar looks really nice. Can’t tell how this occurred though.

    I don't see toning starting from the center like that very often -- it's more common to see it starting from the edges, but that's usually because someone put the coin in a paper album.

    Are those scratches on the Sac reverse on the coin, or on the plastic? I'm wondering if someone opened the lens and fiddled with the coins.

    There don’t seem to be any scratches on the coins themself not signs of anyone opening the 2 mint sets. I probably should have sent a picture of them as a whole. They both came out of the 2007 United States mint 10 of 14 coins proof mint set.

    Fair enough. Just keep in mind that those shells aren't actually sealed or glued, and it's quite easy to open and re-close them without leaving a sign that it's happened.
