First, welcome to the neighborhood @DAMIENmrd9688 !

Try not to use the "Thumbnail" option when posting photos. It sucks! Use the "Full Image" option instead.

Your image is too small, but based on your description, I'm pretty sure that what you have is the result of a grease-filled die. Grease and debris fill the recesses of the die and are compacted from continued strikes. Eventually, the recess is filled completely, and the letter (or number) disappears on the coin. This is very common, and the error isn't worth more than face value except to a bidiot.

What you just did is called hijacking a thread. Your coin and question has nothing to do with the original question. Start your own separate thread.

And the correct numismatic terminology is Doubled Die not double die.

The Die had grease on it which hindered the missing letters. It happens all the time. The Die was also worn and that's normal as well.

Not Mexican, that is from Columbia. Which makes it Columbian which is down in South America. Common piece, you can find them crispy for a couple bucks on ebay. That one happens to be from 1971.
