Once again this differs in several ways from the other RR denarii I have purchased and although a bit worn and/or weakly struck, I feel it is quite attractive for the type. By the time the coin was struck, Caesar had just defeated the Optimates in Greece and Africa and would be assassinated two years later....(44 BC). AR Denarius, Mn Cordius Rufus, 46 BC, 3,97 grams Jugate bust of Dioscuri wearing laureated pileus surmounted by a star(s) and RVFVS II VIR behind co-joined heads Venus standing, holding scales and scepter with cupid on her shoulder MN CORDIVS at edge of field Cordia 2a, Cr. 463 1a

As JA said, since it doesn't detract at all from the beauty of your coin and adds a bit of mystery...I love it!! I still have one more RR on bid, although closing is still quite a while away...and then it's on to some Greeks!!
