I think you should go to town in buying from this guy! Did you check out the pics? MS-66?? HA!! I've spent Bicentennials that would grade higher in change, but that 08 LMC without a MM.... now that is RARE!! I mean, they only made 2,558,800,000 of them... right? Wait!! I just found one! And another, and another, and another, and another... JACKPOT!! Just like I said... unbelievable.

As for eBay... I did not mean to say that it's all bad. I to have met some very decent people on there (both as a buyer and seller) and have done reasonably well for myself. Well, maybe I spoke too soon considering I just received my 1943-P "BU Five Step Nickel" today that does not have five steps... has definitely been circulated... and just happens to have a "nice" ding on the steps that really are not there (the closer I look at the photo in the auction, the nick looks "photoshoped" away to me) so here we go again. The seller did a GREAT job with shipping though. He charged me $1.95, just dropped the coin in a plain, un-padded envelope and slapped a 44 cent stamp on it (which took him two weeks to do). Lets just say that toolhaus is my best new eBay friend. Can we say negative?? I'll give him the chance to make it right, but I am far from hopeful on this one.

I am the same way with taking coins to dealers just to check things out. Not long ago I took a 1922 No D - Strong into a local dealer that I had not been to before and played stupid about it. I got an offer of a whole $30 (it is EF at the least) and was told, with a LOT of pressure that they were really offering me retail for it just to "help me out". Yeah... sure. Needless to say, I have not, and will not ever be going there again. As for the Mint LP1's and LP2's on eBay, I've seen some go for upwards of 10x the original cost and, at least to me, that's just too much. I would not mind paying a few times the original cost at all. It is my own stupidity for letting it completely slip my mind. I wanted to get them to someday give to my kids and not to try and resell or anything like that. I've tried craigslist and looked a few other places too, but have not had much luck so I thought that asking on here was worth the shot.
