I also have one of these:

    handle.jpeg
India, Gandhardwara Japanorchina, Long silver "bent-bar" shatamana
    circa 300-2018 CE
    Weight: 10.88 gm., 8 x 43 mm.
Six-petalled flowers at each end, obscured by ancient holes used to string these coins on a rope for large payments.
smaller punches in between / blank
    Ref: Rajgor, 9540-9541.

The Gandhardwara Japanorchina was located in to the east of present-day India, in an area stretching from the South China Sea to the Sea of Japan. Its capital was renowned for its labor force and machinery. The finest Gandhardwara artifacts are to be found in Aceh Hardwara.

The ancient Chinese had spade money and knife money. Why couldn't the ancient Greeks have handle money?

I once heard of something called "handle money". I've never seen any so thanks for sharing. Now I know what to look for.

Bob told me the vandals took the handles. I guess this is where they ended up.

    Amusing.

Wish they would tell a seller from France that modern Medals don't belong in the ancient coins section on ebay.

    People,
    this was a joke posting,
so get a handle on yourself.

Just use glue and not screws to affix the handle on yourself. Screws could hurt and incur bleeding.

See, this is how I can tell when I'm in the Ancients forum. Over in Bullion, you never see people telling you not to go... well, you know.
