    You know, I foresee a strong market in counterstamped or otherwise "editorially altered" Nixon dollars. I might have to buy a roll or two myself for just that purpose.

    Maybe, I never gave him any respect. Used his boss' death to send us to hell. On top of that, in 1968, he sent me a letter that began, "Greetings from the President of....."

    So you had to go? I met a guy at work who said he was "1-A" in 1969 (fit for U.S. Army combat duty), but with some special pleading and parents pulling strings, got into the Air Force and was stationed in Thailand instead.

    Infantry. Had orders to report for Viet Nam, but with a lot of research and luck, stationed in Germany and because I could type, as a supply clerk! Seems that in my youth, I had the ability to pull stuff off like that. Of course staying home would have been a more clever trick....
