No that's is not what I said. That's what you said.....Langbords family are not collectors they are individuals who have inherent ed a collection of coins.
Many years ago I stopped allowing things like this get to me. Perfect example concert tickets. I've been to a heck of a lot of concerts . When it got to the point that the hassle was more than the pleasure of the show I stopped buying tickets. I'm not passing any judgments here.... and do understand and feel your disappointments. I'm just expressing my personal experiences in dealing with situations as such. Just like a concert that sells out in 15 minutes yet you can get front row seats at $700. Each. If that floats your boat go for it. I choose not to allow situations as such to fire me up any longer.
This is on the Mint's Face Book page The FB post says that you have to sign in at http://catalog.usmint.gov/ instead of http://www.usmint.gov/ for better service. Who knew? I've changed my bookmark.
Oh snap! Glad I had the product page bookmarked. Product page (and checkout page, etc), DID experience problems too though, whether or not they admit it.
I was one of the lucky ones. My preloaded CC was initially rejected, had to re-enter it, slow to accept, but somehow it went through. Not the smooth process I experienced with ordering the Truman.
As I disclosed upfront. I know you are trying to have good fun. It just seems the collectors are really ticked off. Just seems like it is making for a toxic environment.
Everyone had a shot at these, just like the truman coins. The only ones who are mad are the ones who do not believe in capitalism, and I do not care to offend them honestly.
I believe in capitalism. I'm not trying to hide it, I was going to capitalize on them. The profit would have been used to buy other coins that I might want. When the Kennedy set comes out, I want those for myself, though.
Everyone says the Kennedy coins will flop with the upped mintage of 50,000..... but I think it will do really well. I want several of those in my collection as well.
Had a dental appointment at 11 Central Time (Noon Eastern!) Gave my son credit card info and opened my account on Mint website. Got back around 12, and found that a glitch occurred and order didn't go through. Ah well, too bad, but at least I can smile................wit dem pearly choppers!
Capitalism is fine. I just do not understand why a collector such as myself who wanted just one set could not get through. The reason why I did not get through was due to the volume made by dealers buying theirs. The mint is set up for the dealer not the collector. One thing for sure, this time I am not buying on the aftermarket at 2 to 3 times more than the mint price.
