I understand why you are upset. I sold for a modest profit ($175 a set) instantly to have full disclosure. If you hate me for it, so be it. I also think that of all people, Coin Talkers, should understand that this stuff happens. Refreshing at 11AM was all I had to do.
You got lucky with no issues. I was trying to buy as many as I could, and only got 3 orders in. It was a slow process this time.
There are 3 items needed to start a fire....fuel,heat,& oxygen....Take away one and no fire. That said I do understand what it's like to try and order from the mint. I'll pass along two suggestions , the mint has gift wrapped items if you opt for gift wrap 9 times out of ten you will score as they have units already pre wrapped . So next time opt for the gift wrap and I'm quite sure you will score. How do I know this.... because I have used this trick several times when an item was sold out and scored what I was after. Yes gift wrap does cost more. But you'll score. Next is stop the demand! All you flippers and companies like MCM are gobbling up items that if there's no demand there's no market. They get you all in a feeding frenzy over a product that is low mintage . And they control the market . I see post I need this for my collection no you don't . ...you like to have it in your set. But do you truly need it? I be willing to bet after a month or so and the demand is down these will be yesterday's tomatoes , and they will be wiggling the next "Got To Have Item"! These companies know about the feeding frenzy and laughing all the way to the bank with your money. Time and time again if you wait it out you'll be able to find the item at a price point that is real not over inflated. Just remember no demand no market....it's that simple.
Exactly. Thats why I dumped my coins immediately. I left a $75 a set on the table like an idiot, but hey, I put the profit in my pocket. No risk, already got paid. Paddy, you know you would be all for a high demand market if you got to purchase some. You shouldn't rant on a capitalist for making money.
Wrong. I am part collector, part dealer. I use profits from stuff like this to put other stuff in my collection, AND money in the bank.
I could care less about capitalism My point is simple.... a collector collects ......yes they do from time to time reposition there collection by selling parts off or trading. A dealer does not collect they buy and sell for profit. So the question is are you a collector or a dealer ?
The question is, who cares and why does it matter? You act like making any money is evil. Do you have a job? Did you know you are taking money away from other people if you have a paycheck?
There's no rules you can be what you want to be but a true collector collects . And as I stated yes sometimes trades or sells off what no longer holds their interests. That does not make them a dealer . What makes you a dealer is buying to flip or sell.
And I guess if you are a collector, when you DO sell a coin, make sure to sell it for a loss. Cause you know, you don't want to be a dealer who makes a profit.
I disagree. I had my CC and address pre-loaded way before the 12 noon on-sale and I still had trouble. Thankfully I did get my order to go through, but many did not.
