I didn't realize I was rich! http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1958-D-Lincoln-Penny-Cent-Error-Mint-Mark-Stamped-Wrong-Location-/120817103428?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item1c2142b244
when folks lists something on ebay the seller can put any price they want to on the item. whether it sells or not is another story , at one time it cost the sellers extra for adding these big prices and now it's free. a favorite scam of some sellers is to put a million dollars on something and add a make a offer and if some buyer makes a offer they usually own the item. I have seen items sell for 10 times as much as they are worth with this trick.
"Due to the nature of the business no returns once the flap is opened" I'm thinking the seller is less of an idiot and more of a thief.
It's Ebay Canada - probably from someone not in the know about US coinage. Or, preying on a fellow Canadian who might think it's something special.
