    when folks lists something on ebay the seller can put any price they want to on the item. whether it sells or not is another story , at one time it cost the sellers extra for adding these big prices and now it's free. a favorite scam of some sellers is to put a million dollars on something and add a make a offer and if some buyer makes a offer they usually own the item. I have seen items sell for 10 times as much as they are worth with this trick.

    I wouldn't go as far to say the seller is an "idiot". Perhaps "uninformed" is more suitable. :)

    It's Ebay Canada - probably from someone not in the know about US coinage. Or, preying on a fellow Canadian who might think it's something special.
