I recently acquired a 1862 Indian Head Cent. I'll post a picture of it later. Anyway, when I was putting it in a new cardboard flip (too much writing on the old one), I noticed that the reverse looks like it was rotated about 15 degrees or so when comparing the date of the obverse and the shield of the reverse. If I hold the coin with the date at the very bottom and carefully flip it over, the shield looks like it's sitting at the one o'clock position. Since the coin was minted in 1862, could the dies have been turned or not set up right? I don't think it's a fake, but it seems odd that it doesn't look like it was lined up right.

Rotated dies do occur at the mint, I would imagine that's what happened with your coin. Not sure how much of a premium it adds, but it is an error nonetheless.
    Keep up the hunt!
