I literally just got my first 2017 P and now they come out with another oddball cent. Gonna be another 2 years before the hype dies.

 

I actually don't think the hype on this one will last for years. There's no limit on the production and the big boys will very likely buy a TON of these and get them out there while people are super excited. Once the dust settles I expect the mintage to be high for a proof set and like the EU sets not long ago I don't see a lasting hype

 

I will be getting one since I buy a mint set for each of my kids' birth years. Beyond that, the mint can't have any more of my money.

 

They need something to say their proof sets are popular. Marketing gimmick but one I will need. Next year look for a "W" nickel and the year after that a "W" dollar Native American.

 

And don't forget the updated album pages you will need and I won't buy.

 

Over on the CoinCommunity forums there was a posting from the Mint's facebook page

So it looks like there will be three different W mint cents this year.

 

The sad part is that CT will be inundated by the BoobTube experts who insist that their find is the error of the century.

Over on the PCGS forum they were talking about the mint intentionally making errors to boost sales. Obviously just jokes lol.
