That was one of the most informative and entertaining threads in the history of cointalk IMO. Real opposing opinions with logical reasoning being debated in depth without insult or injury. In the end, we did not come to an agreement other than that we disagree, but it was still very fun.

If you are reading this thread and have never read the thread referenced above, do yourself a favor and enjoy reading all eleven pages. Furthermore, I am nominating it for TOTW and can't believe a thread with that many responses and views did not win an award.

This coin is a low grade (MS60-61) that has probably been dipped. Please check the other items by this seller (current and past). You will notice that he has never sold a coin with any toning whatsoever. This means that he dips all of his coins. I purchased a few coins from him years ago and was not happy with the over-dipped, sometimes cleaned coins that I received.

I would like to reiterate my advice that you only buy an NGC or PCGS graded coin until you have a better grasp of the grading and pitfalls associated with buying raw coins.

Thanks . Dipped in what ? What do they use to clean these coins to get "original luster" ?
