[QUOTE="zekeguzz, post: 1048688, member: 15455"]I was checking my 2001 mint set for the sacagawea grade. Upon eyeballing all coins I find that the state quarters have a very slight goldish tint and a slight hazy fogginess around the rims. It is dissapointing to say the least. My scanner really doesn't do well on mint and silver sets or slabbed coins. Can't bring out the siver color without major editing which ruins everything.. Only a camera can really show this discoloration or toning. I believe as years go by the haze will completey cover the quarters. I would also guess the goldish toning will increase also.

I bought mint sets on Ebay last year last year and immediately vacuum sealed them in

food saver polyethylene bags that I cut to fit.
