One thing that has always bugged me about the Mint and their numismatic gold/silver is that they don't come sealed. Specifically, why not just either shrink-wrap the packaging in semi-unique US Mint shrink-wrap or possibly a unique sticker seal? Hell, why not both? Such a solution would certainly force a little more honesty on the part of the sellers who're trying to unload pre-screened goods. What do you guys think, should we pull out our pens and ask our Reps to look into it?
They come sealed in a capsule, I wouldnt want them sealed like Canada seals their coins! This protects the coins and makes them easy to remove. I dont see how a seal would prevent anyone from pre-screening the coins though.
Boxer, I am not talking about sealing the coins. I wrote that the packaging should be sealed in some way.
simple solutions. buy only and directly from the u.s. mint. don't buy from dealers. don't buy the slabbed coins. advise for u.s mint. don't accept returns. and don't sell back returns goods. sell your own ms70 and proof70 to collectors.
