Thank You for your reply. I hope I didn't make a mistake moving to fast. I just said what I sent to PCGS in my head. I did not realize the importance of this coin. I'm 100% sure it is a 1982 D 3.1 grams but after all the feed back just maybe I made a mistake. I really hope not to save face. I reached out to PCGS yesterday asking them to just clarify small or Large date , I got no call today. I told them they have no need to rush , I just need to know this one answer. I really hope I dont let everyone down. Ragu
I have an email from November 10 stating my coins are ready to be graded. Would anyone have an answer on how long it takes to grade five coins ? Thanks Ragu.
I have a question if anyone could answer. I just reached out to PCGS and a recording had came on stating the staff is in a meeting. Isn't this unusual ? Who takes everyone away at one time from answering the phones. Thanks Ragu
I'd estimate 1 month, 3 weeks, 6 days, 10 hours, 44 minutes, and 39 seconds, on average, taking into account everything. For express service it takes a little longer, understandably, but you got to pay extra for it.
you forgot to factor in the phase of the moon and time of high tide, it might take a couple days longer....
Whatever all that ment, Thanks for the help. I have to be on the Big Bang Theory Thread. This is what I have learned in the few days I been here. I have learned my grammar sucks and being on this Chat I'm not smart enough for the coin word. I got no clarity from or direction to help a beginner. Being an outlaw biker I have met some bad people in my life but I have to say the coin collecting world is no different. Ok one difference no hiding behind a computer. IN real outside world things are so different. I wish you all the success. I'm out Ragu...and PS the name didnt come from a Jar as someone had said....
He comes in here and does his business all over us and then leaves and didn't even put the toilet seat back down. What disrespect.
What you learned was * you need to do more research before spending the money to have to your coins attributed * you cannot have have an over mint mark on coins Minted after 1988, due to the changes in the die making process * how to tell the difference between a small date and large date 1982 cent and the extremely low probability of finding a 1982-D small date copper (better odds of winning the Power ball lotto) * PCGS has very long turn around times since Covid. Nobody can predict when your coins will be done. (Members were making fun of PCGS, not you) You can leave and continue to waste your time and money, or you can hang around and learn from very knowledgeable collectors who enjoy sharing their knowledge with new collectors. Honestly, if these comments bother you, you must have been a hit with the biker crowd.
Dang, I didn't know outlaw bikers were such snowflakes. Still hope you really have a 1982 D copper small date. Lurk for awhile and then post your graded coin and show us up.
Hang in there. Ask questions also there’s many sites that can help you. Just ignore the replies that lack wisdom
Just a guess on my part, but it may be because humans make these types of mistakes all the time. For instance, your post uses the word "there". Maybe it should be (their), or possibly (they're), depending on your intent, and to better understand what you are explaining.
