mint error? 50$ Gold buffalo

Hey guys. The rim is huge and misshapen. Any thoughts. Worth anything more then just the gold its self

Looks like a Finned Rim.
It's an error but I don't really know what kind of premium it would have.

It's there. The quality went out of control.

 

Do you have any straight shots of both sides, could be a stiff collar ..

 

Not the first I've seen of this from this issue.

 

This is called finning of the rim. I don't know if it will command a premium, but it IS a Mint error.

Its just uncirculated not anything pretty. That fingerprints will mess up. Plus its a gold coin... not a silver coin. Gold does not tarnish. At least thats what i read.

Not anything pretty??? It is a beautiful gold coin. Does not matter if the finger print "tarnishes", it could look like a little greasy spot on an otherwise spotless coin.

 

What year is it ? Where did you get it ?

 

Not pretty compared to a limited strike ultra cameo proof.
