Meow has found this 1960d penny CRH today. It has small bit of doubling at the end of the 6. So Meow looked around for some and info. And the only thing Meow could find mentioned, that is was a die variety. Any added value? Not sure.

Could it be a die chip due to it being confined to just one number?

The DDO-003 Class 3 is shown on coppercoins as a Large date and the one in your photo and reference is a small date, I think the club be wrong. Jim

Ok. It does have both the 6 and the 9 doubled the same way. Maybe its a different variation? a large date version????

The 6 and 9 of small dates usually have a problem in those areas, even if not a DDO, but stronger imo in DDO. All of my 1960D-DD0-001 coins have varying degree of it as well as some with strong polishing lines, ( some sent back as scratches by TPG). This article helps explain some.

Go here and run your pointer over the date .

OK, Meow can see that. Guess that's actually pretty common it seems. Too bad, Meow thought Meow might of found something worthwhile. Thanks for the help.

https://doubleddie.com/572234.html did you guys check these others, rule them out, that looks like a small over large, Im just asking because that's very interesting, one that looks a lot like yours they are looking for more pictures, but there shows to be hub doubling in other areas of the coin? Ok its the one jim was looking at or has, nevermind. wow

Meow cant find a match. But, not all the examples have the same date doubling. In fact most don't. So this penny is at least a die variation. maybe not all that special, but just different.

I hesitate to have any more 60D-001 graded as with my last batch the price for a PCGS MS-65 Rd dropped from $300 or so to less than $200 each. Not the way to make money. It is now back up a little, so I might get a few more slabbed before they become BN :)

Meow's best CRH find is related to this coin. It is a 1960 d/d MS in R/B.
