Milk spots on Gold eagle?

    Yeah it's a spot, but it's not a milk spot. But then people have taken to calling just about any spot or small blemish on bullion coins milk spots - when they aren't milk spots at all.

    And, in the first pics, it also looks to me like somebody tried to rub that spot off.

    Personally, I've never seen an actual milk spot on gold. And to the best of my knowledge nobody else ever has either. In a way this is reinforced by PCGS because for years they refused to grade ASEs as 70 because of the possibility of milk spots developing after they had slabbed the coin. And they didn't want the liability that would entail. But, they had no such restriction on gold. Which implies that gold simply didn't get milk spots.
