Beautiful notes!! Never even knew they existed!! Definitely something to look out for! Thank you for sharing!
Been really busy so sorry for letting the thread slip a little, but back to it after the Series 641, and 681 next up is the Series 661 the fractional,s are Very common as is the $1 and $5 notes in standard grades, however not So much in super high grades 68+ ( the 50 cent denomination has only 2) Now when we get in to the $10 and the $20 denomination, these are not Common both notes demand high premiums, but i have seen $20,s graded In A/U 50 + for under $700 and that,s a bargain. here are my example.
The first note above Series 661 5 Cent note is very again very common, you Can get high grades in the $55 to $65 range, which really is just the cost Of the note plus grading costs, so great high quality on the cheap.
The Series 661 10 Cent version would be on par with the 5 Cent after all The delivered population is exactly the same at 23,520,000 however You can only go by what you see allot of as many of these notes were Destroyed by the military finance division, i do also have the big brother To the 68, which is the 69 and this would have almost 10 times the Value, here are some pics of that.
The Series 661 25 Cent note the value goes up substantially only a couple In this grade with a delivered population of only 13,440,000 your at almost Half of the 5 and 10 cent denominations, so this particular note would be In the $250 to $300 range, but you can still get gem/unc notes for almost a song !
Series 661 50 Cents in 68PPQ, this particular note is one of two and In the highest grade, so value would be in the $450 to $500 to range But again raw gem examples you can still find under $75 and A/U,S Below that, the populations for this note would be 10,080,000 delivered.
Series 661 $1, this note is kind of like wallpaper in away, yes it is a gorgeous note and the back looks like a picture hanging on the wall....LOL , however this is the most mass produced notes in the entire MPC Series with 33,040,000 total notes Delivered, it is out there and most of the time on the cheap !! but the above example is in 69PPQ and there,s like 3, going from 68PPQ to 69PPQ there,s a Big jump in premium, so this note would be in the $750 range.
Series 661 $5 68PPQ, this again is a common note in standard grades But has only a population of 5 and this is the highest grade, but this Note is very puzzling from the fact that it has a very low delivered Population of only 7,200,000 total notes, so that tends to lean towards A more rare note then it actually is but you do see allot of these in Common grades, so the value of this note would be right around $500
Series 661 $10, now we start getting in to the heavy hitters, this note is very rare with only 4,800,000 delivered any type of raw examples are Going to be few and far between so if you have the chance to pick up a rag Do it, this note is in my top 5 most expensive notes i own.
Series 681 $20 68PPQ, This is the most expensive note i own being rare and The only 68 in population give it such a high value but if you dont want to break The bank there are some great way less examples to go such as this one I am a big fan of A/U grades :
