I've been lurking this thread lately and have enjoyed the topic. I'm very new to MPCs with thanks going to CT members mpcusa and lettow for recent info regarding Allied Military Currency and tracking down a few beginner notes for my study. Not to change the topic of this thread but I just read this Numismaster article and thought it might also appeal to others, "Counterfeits Served Numismatic Purposes" Excerpt: Enjoy.
Dont worry i will be there  The answer on the next 3 Questions is no! But seriously its hard to collect everything Thats why i only do one thing, The rarest of the rare when It comes to Mpc, I have a couple of super nice notes coming In this week and the next, I will be posting them then :kewl:
I know the Germans Counterfeited many different styles of currency to Try and destroy the economies of there enemies not sure how much They actually made though??
One of the counterfeiters from Operation Bernhard (the German counterfeiting of British and American money during WWII) was at last years Fest. Neil Shafer, the author of the article referenced by Krispy, is a Fester and will be there this year also.
Another great benefit in going to the fest!! Question, I was kinda thinking of Taking the family up for just the day, Would there be anything for them to Do, While i emerge myself in the fest??
If your family only includes a spouse, then Judy Schwan has a separate schedule of events for the spouses during the Fest. If you have children, there is nothing really planned for that although they could tag along with Judy's group depending on their ages. Port Clinton is a small Lake Erie resort town which is still pretty shuttered in mid-April so there is not much going on in the area this time of year. That is one reason that the Fest can get decent rates at the hotel since it is still off-season there.
