This is what I used to use. I gave it to a friend because my new residence doesn't have enough room for my photographic equipment. Here are a few samples of images.
I once saw an electron microscope on a government surplus site. I actually thought about getting it, but it was huge. My guess is that is was probably new 40 years ago and consisted of 8 to 10 cabinet sized components. Would have taken up most of the space of my two car garage.
I got to go digital like your camera setup. Right now all I do is use my IPhone and a clip on 7X Olloclip lense.
I picked up this Bausch & Lomb real cheap some years back. For extreme close-up pictures I use a bellows arrangement on my tethered camera.
So nice, I’ve always just been a do it for myself didn’t need pictures guy. So I have 10’s of thousands of Lincoln cents that have no images taken of them verses 50 or so I have since I got my IPhone! That looks like SO much fun thanks for the share! Reed
Oh ya be CARFULL that thing doesn’t walk off the table. LOL. Does it have a name? I’m famous for naming things, I’ll call him Lurch.
I like it it’s small and doesn’t take much room. Paired with a note book would be fine for me for photos. I like looking through glass at my stuff. Had to use a 200X at work for some inspection work regularly and would rather “see” it when I can thru glass instead. Just this old dudes preference.
To be honest, the only drawback was that you had to remove the gooseneck camera from one of the eyepieces every time you had to reposition, refocus or zoom in on the coin. If I ever get another stereomicroscope, I will get a trinocular set-up that has a dedicated eyepiece for the camera. Chris
