I always remain optimistic, but when the proof is placed before me have to accept it as fact. The pics I uploaded this morning (your original pics with my editing) clearly show evidence that your quarter is plated and there are two colors showing on the coin, gold which is from the plating and dull gray, which is the clad coin showing through the plating because circulation has worn that very thin plated metal off of the coin. So regarding not being easily convinced...I'm sorry, if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, walks like a duck, and the Ornithologist has told me that its a duck, then its not a fish no matter how much I want it to be. I'm not sure what the Daniel Carr link has to do with this. He mints\over strikes a 1965-D Silver Peace dollar, but that doesn't mean its real or an error...its called a fantasy piece, as are all of his creations. Look, I mean no disrespect to you, and by all means I'm not trying to intimidate, scare or run you off. Lord knows this hobby needs more passionate people. But a lot of the forum members have been through quite the ordeal here recently...it's not really even over that I know of.... with people trying to claim that what is being shared with them is just pessimistic know it all mentality trying to shoot them down. It's quite the opposite, there are *very* experienced folks here offering their knowledge and experience for free to answer questions, and all to often its questions by people who have no interest in learning about numismatics, but making it rich quick off a coin they found in their change. That's not what this hobby is about.
