My favorite! My oldest find. Still kind of new, but I really know how to work it, now, and know what I'm going to pull up. Still no silvers, but I'd take these over a silver Roosevelt every day. 1834-1838 Matron head. With a photo of smiling Evan (doesn't occur often) holding it. And a 1933 popsicle token. Same year my hometown burned to the ground after a child with Down's syndrome was playing with a lamp, which set fire to the entire neighborhood where my current home is today. This was in my next door neighbors lawn, and I was glad I could save it, even if it isn't the sexiest coin of all time. Lastly, my first find that was in my own lawn. It's a hoe! Now I'll never be lonely.
You can probably get the date on the cent. Even though it is roached. If you don't want to etch it (lemon juice and salt). Just let it sit in some distilled water for a week or so. Then take it out and use an eye loupe and a very bright light. (I have a sun lamp in my bathroom there's three bulbs, there's a ton of wattage) and I always go in there and am able to see things on coins that you think you can't see. The ancient people say to soak the coin in olive oil. I don't know if that is considered damage or not, but it sort of hydrates the coin a little.
I'm almost batting 1.000. Most things I think are fake, are real and most things I think are real, are fake. The good news, this Chinese stamped .925 is real, it's just plated over in gold.
Manzano HS Albuquerque 1965 The school was established in 1961. Therefore the first full four year class graduated in '65.
It's my neighborhood high school. Even though I was out of the neighborhood detecting. It's where I usually go to vote.
9 AM on a Sunday morning and the parking lot at the Indian casino is packed. A shameful disgrace of human character.
Gambling probably falls into the greed category of the 7 deadly sins. 6 other shameful disgraces of character to go!
Way below freezing, battling frostbite. Our intrepid hero slogs on, perseveres and fights through the frozen tundra to unearth the treasures below. Dollar coin, silver heart, wheatie.
I hit a couple spots. dol coin and a silver ring photo tom. While the ring is not stamped, I got a good signal and the artists name was on the inside which I was able to look up. Native American (Zuni) artist and they keep listing his/her pieces as being 20th century, so maybe they aren't alive? I can't find a biography but I have found photos and descriptions of other silver and turquoise pieces that they made. This is a small ring but it is silver with real turquoise.
I guess a long story is good. Yesterday was excellent with the dollar coin and silver ring. Sunday started out like a disaster, and slowly improved. One spot the only thing I found were 7 wheaties. A 5 spill and the other 2 were obv part of the same hoard. 1940-S 1944 1945-S 1945-S 1946-D 1946-S 1952-S. I pulled some junk jewelry. But the ring is stamped 925. I got a bad signal and I still think it's fake but GF is convinced it is real so we have to test it. And the earring is stamped 925 on the stem and GF says the whole thing is silver.
