Record hunt. Most quarters, most targets, most money. Silver ring and dollar coin. The peso is 1975 and the other coin says O'Brien's Tower, Ireland. And the other side says Cliffs of Moher, Ireland.
My wire broke. I was able to fix it, which was good because I am not real handy. The dollar coin was nice. The chain is junk, but they put the wrong counterfeit stamp on it, they meant to put a phony 925 Italy on it.
I have some finds that have fake gold stamps. If we assume the chain was supposed to be stamped as silver (it's not silver) that's the 3rd fake silver I have found. The small religious piece says STERLING on the back, the ring says 925, but it is clearly plated over copper.
Happy Birthday @Michael K - mine was Friday and you inspired me to take my cheapo out again. I just Added This! My detector coin Haul is now $0.15!
When I started in Colorado, (in the 90's) I didn't do that great. Around $45 in 3 years with a Kennedy half, 4 silvers (2 rings, an earring and part of a bracelet) and a five dollar bill. I only had 1 really good hunt. That machine got my first dollar coin out here around 18 years ago and the main box was fried. I never thought I would do it again, but in 2016 (June) I started up again and I have 5 gold rings, 6 silver coins another 57 silvers, 90 more dollar coins and 19 more halves. $2175 in cash. It's out there. You just have to devise a system. Plus, I don't even dig up old ground out here. The ground is like cement, and everything has been searched out. Most of my finds are recent drops.
Hey guys, It's been awhile since I've been on. I've been having some troubles and had to take care of some things. But I've been out just a few times and only have a few things to show. I'm taking some pics later.... Man Mike you have been at it. That's a lot of good stuff you have been pulling. I'm really going to have to hit it hard to keep up with all that! Happy hunting guys.
paddyman do you keep all your finds? I have a coffee cup on my desk and when I fill it up it gets rolled and off to my coin buying acct at the local credit union. Its not alot but it adds up, over the last 10 years I estimate I've spent upwards of a thousand dollars on new coin purchases from my metal detecting hobby. I enjoy both detecting and coin collecting equally. its the perfect combination
