I had one but it was cheap and broke in a week lol. What I do is after I pull the plug I check it with my machine. Most of the time it's in there but if it's not I just run my coil over the hole and dig where it should be. I hope this helps. I don't use earphones anymore either, imo the sounds are more clear without them. HH!

Thanks! I do that too but I seem to always miss it and it's not in the plug, no matter how many times I THINK I've pinpointed it (at least to some degree). Still wind up digging a bigger and bigger hole, making the plug almost irrelevant. I also use the rinky dink orange imposter pinpointer too and it seems to work reasonably well. Also DO use earphones as I find that people tend to not say "You find anything?" as often with them on.

Yes that is true.... I do waste about 30 minutes every time I go out.

Yeah. At least with headphones on, you can pretend not to hear them and continue. Least that's what I do. Short of putting a sign on my back saying "Go away", it's the better way I think. I'm terrible at though almost as badly as I am at identifying machine doubling. Oh well.

I have to use the headphones, with stereo it is much easier for me to pinpoint the spot, than with the headphones out. With the headphones out, you will use up the batteries much much faster.
I got a good signal on this balloon charm, I didn't think it was silver, but when I got home my GF and I were able to see with the loupe an STER stamp. 5.3 grams.

Well guys, i finally upgraded machines!!! I picked up a Garrett ace 150. Took me a little while but I got there, and that feels pretty good. It wasn't very expensive, but i sure am proud of it. Now I can go get all those nickels I've been missing lol. Only took 10 rolls of dug up quarters. Next upgrade, AT PRO.

The balloon charm gave me a good signal and we were able see that it was stamped Sterling (STER still visible). Very sure it is real. Need to get the ring tested from a few weeks ago. But confidant on that one as well. Scraped up my shin yest. It's a jungle out there. Spring break is making me switch my schedule around for the next 2 weeks. Next weeks hunt will be in 2 weeks and the one from 2 weeks from now has been pushed up to next week.
Anxious to see how the Garrett works out.

Here are the pressed coins, I have a few others but I didn't get them metal detecting so they are not in this photo.
Some of my favorites at the top. Oatman, AZ Wild Donkey Preserve (also off center) Cave of the Winds, CO, Roswell, NM, SS Jeremiah O'Brien, San Francisco,
    and Balclutha, San Francisco.

Here are the others. Sea World, Marge Simpson, Houston, Texas, Verde Canyon Railroad Wilderness Route, a blank, and a home made job. I have some other blanks mixed in with my coin "errors" Texas cents, etc.

IMG_20190313_135505220.jpg This was a little Field test for the ACE 150. As you can see i now have nickels in the photo lol. It's a nice little machine. It's light weight, has a long adjustable handle and foam grip. From what I've seen so far it does what it says,it definitely cut back on the trash and I'm getting cleaner signals. Cant wait to get back out.

Was the ground wet and rocky on this hunt? Just wondering because most of the clad I dig has the same look as these coins. A lot of rocky soil where I live.

No this is one of my regular spots. I go there every couple of months. Got a good signal in the sand under the swings. Full photo tomorrow, although this Sunday is
going to be a little shorter than my usual hunts. Next week, I'll get back on my regular grind

Wet and muddy yes.. The main reason the Clad and Nickel change color is because of long time Environmental exposure to soil, dirt, sand and the elements.
