    I don't keep track of the hours I detect. I'm sure I would be very disapointed in my "Pay" rate.
    Especially if I deduct Batteries and Gas.

    This years good finds....
    16 Silver coins, Washington quarters, Merc & rosie dimes.
    1907 V nickel
    20" 14K gold chain
    Lots of clad, about $350 worth?

    I own one metal detector, a store brand model from an old catalog showroom called "Century". it has two knobs and no discrimination. It is from around 1966, so it is probably worth more as a collectable than as a detector. I find a LOT of aluminum with it. I mostly use it to try to find nails and metal in saw logs.

    I bought mine probably in the late '60s, and you're right, lots of aluminum in my yard.

    I had one called a "Mustang" $19.95 at Brandnames catalog showroom.
