Hello everyone, First some really sad news My sister sent me a message late Sunday night to try to inform me that our mom had a bad fall at her home. They had to take her to the hospital via ambulance. I didn't see the message until I woke up Monday morning Our mom had gotten up from her bed without letting anyone know. She was supposed to alert my sister via bell. So, she fell and somehow broke both her femur bones She had surgery done on Monday to install rods and screw to fix the issue. But she's 84 years old so her recovery and rehabilitation is definitely not going to be easy It has been tough for the entire family. I can't even go see my mom until Friday evening because the superintendent of my building went on vacation for 3 weeks, so the company has me covering 6 buildings during this time ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To try to keep myself occupied because of issues at work and other issues here in NYC with my family I decided to go metal detecting yesterday evening at St. Mary's Park near our apartment. It relaxes me a bit! Here were my finds from yesterday. No silver coins Wheat Cents Silver Ring - Zirconia Crystal? 2 Barcade Tokens Everything Miscellaneous Metal items Mint error? Not!
I am very sorry to hear about your mother. I don't like to see our elderly hurt. I was here at home when my mother-in-law fell. I heard her yell for me. Her injuries were severe. She passed 3 days later. Please keep us up with the progress of your mother. We will have your family in our prayers.
I’m very sorry to hear about the fall. Your mother had and what she had to have done to her to repair the damage. I can’t help it say my first thought of hearing that was when my mother fell roughly the same age and broke her rib. She passed away a few weeks ago of been 98 about 14 years after she recovered from her accident. I only say this to help encourage you that just because she’s 84 doesn’t mean she can’t recover, but it will not be easy. It will be a long hard recovery for her and for you as well for I know you’ll be there helping her. I pray for her daily ever since your last post about your mother. Again, I’m so very sorry to hear she had this fall. My mother fell a lot as well, and I could not no matter what I tried. I could not get her to put her feet out of the bed and sit there for a minute before she tried to walk. At that age, the blood doesn’t circulate as well so they need to sit up first and then stand. My prayers go with her. Congratulations on your finds!
