    Hello everyone,

In this thread I want to share all of my Metal Detected US Silver and a few Foreign Silver coins that I have somehow acquired over the past 14+ years.
Mostly in NYC parks. I also attended an event at a park in Rock Hill, South Carolina for the past 3 years.
A total of 504 Silver coins!
The majority were buried for some time in the spots I found them.
A few I have actually eyeballed sitting on top of the ground.
And there are also the coins I detected at Live Metal Detecting Events which means they were seeded in the ground, and I got to keep them.
I have posted pictures, and a screenshot of my updated Excel Spreadsheet I created for all the coins with totals and $ values.

Pictures first then the totals for each - Let's go! :woot:

    1942 -1945 Silver Wartime Nickels
    35% silver, 9% manganese and 56% copper

I ran out of space (Limit 10 pictures) to post the screenshot of the Excel Spreadsheet. So here it is..

Here are the totals for all the coins and their Silver Melt Values.
I created this Excel Spreadsheet earlier this week.
I currently follow the Silver Melt Values for US and Foreign Coins over at the NGC Website.
There are 2 sets of numbers since I started this information earlier this week and then updated the values today.
The melt value went down a bit :meh:

    Excel .jpg

I did not include a silver melt value for the 5C Colombia and the 1789 Half Reale.
I couldn't find any information for those two coins.

Check out my thread @lordmarcovan ;)

The spread sheet for melt values is a good idea. I'll have to create one for all my finds. I currently don't have any values for them other than the graded stuff I collect. Thanks for posting.

    @jb10000lakes
That's great. I didn't think to use the Numista website. Thanks!

I tip my hat to you, sir. By a large margin, you have exceeded my lifetime silver totals from my 1992-2013 detecting career.

PS- that 1919 quarter looks pretty nice. Most of those earlier SLQs went on to get their dates worn off in circulation, until the Mint changed the design to a more recessed date in 1925. Getting lost and sleeping in the ground a long time spared that one from losing its date in circulation.

A novice detecting buddy of mine who I was teaching went and popped a nice 1918-S quarter in front of me, once. I never got many SLQs- and any pre-'25 coins I found were dateless.

Keep at this, and I say there's gonna be a Capped Bust half dime or dime in your future!

(I only dug one Capped Bust US coin- it was an 1829 half dime with a hole in it.)

I got my (adult) daughter a metal detector for Christmas years ago and I think she put it in the back of a storage closet. I'm going to ask her to give it back!!!
